This calendar gives a total of 197 days with the requirement to celebrate 3 religious festival dates for Eid ul Fitr, Guru Nanak and Diwali (with one of these days falling during an existing school holiday) giving a total of 195 days with 190 pupil days and the provision of 5 INSET days. Schools allocate these INSET days as appropriate to their needs.
Schools may continue to vary the date for Eid Ul Fitr in consultation with their local community and with the agreement of the LA.
